[Tutorial] : install Android 4.1.2 (official) on the Galaxy Note 2
As we have just presented, Android 4.1.2 officially arrives on Galaxy Note 2. Comparable to the leaked version of a few weeks ago, this new firmware includes all the promised new features (multi-windowing disabled, customization of the notification bar and brightness gauge, ink effect, ...).
For the moment, this official update is only available for Poland. Before receiving it on your Galaxy Note 2, you will need to be patient or flash your terminal. It's the latter solution that we offer you today.
But before you start the procedure, and as for flashing, you should know that we decline any responsibility in case of brick or loss of data from your phone. Even if the operation is simple and extremely rare, there is no such thing as zero risk.
Start by downloading the file N7100XXDLK7_N7100PRTDLK5_PRT.zip.
Desire it then to obtain a .tar.md5 file.
Now open Odin v1.85 (downloadable here), and click on PDA. Add the .tar.md5 file. Check that the re-partition box is not checked.
Now let's move on to our Galaxy Note 2. Turn off the phone and switch it to download mode. To do so, press the Volume Down, Home and Power buttons simultaneously. Then confirm with the Volume Up button.
Now connect your Galaxy Note 2 to your computer with the USB cable. In Odin, the ID:COM box will be displayed in yellow (this can take up to 10 seconds). When it does, you can press Start. If not, start again.
Do not touch anything else, Odin and your Galaxy Note 2 will work. You can also notice a progress bar on each screen. When the installation is complete, your Galaxy Note 2 will restart automatically.
You've just installed the official update to Android 4.1.2, now all you have to do is enjoy it.
