Dell has updated its workstation line-up releasing seven new systems that will meet the needs of the broadest range of professional users.
- Vendor steps up its challenge with new notebook, 2-in-1 and tower models.
- Latest range offers even more space saving, CPU and graphics power and storage capacity.
They include two powerful VR/AR-ready notebooks – the Precision 7530 and 7730; 2-in-1 and clamshell versions of the 5530; the 3530 laptop; the 3430 small form-factor desktop; and finally, the 3630 tower.
The VR/AR-ready models offer 15-inch and 17-inch screens respectively and are 15% smaller than the previous offerings. They use Core and Xeon, six-core processors, super-speed memory and with Radeon Pro and NVIDIA Quadro graphics are AR/VR-ready. They can accommodate a massive 6TB and 8TB SSD capacity and are also claimed to be unique in being the only mobile workstations to support 8K and HDR via a single cable with DisplayPort 1.4.
Dell also claims that the standard 5530 is ‘the world’s smallest, thinnest, and lightest 15-inch mobile workstation’. Key features include an IGZO display with UHD and 100% Adobe RGB options and up to 4TB storage. The 2-in-1 – due for release this month (August) – is similarly claimed to be the smallest of its kind. It has a quad-core Intel® Core™ processor with discrete graphics and Radeon WX Vega graphics. The clamshell model has a six-core CPU and NVIDIA Quadro Pro P2000.
The 3530 is Dell’s new entry-level mobile workstation; it has Intel six-core processor options, NVIDIA Quadro and supports Windows Hello with its infra-red camera. The 3430 small form factor tower has a new space-saving design and can be shipped with up to 64GB of RAM and as much as 6TB of storage in a hybrid configuration. The 3630 sticks to a more traditional form factor but is 23% smaller than the previous generation version and comes VR/AR-ready with both Radeon and NVIDIA. It can house a colossal 14Tb of storage.
